(from PPSO September 8, 2020)
The U.S. Probation and Pretrial Wellness Committee would like to recognize September as National Suicide Prevention Month and National Suicide Prevention Week September 6 - 12, 2020. We would like to spread awareness on this important topic and provide the following resources. Check back throughout the month of September for more resources.
If you are in crisis or are experiencing difficult or suicidal thoughts, call the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273 TALK (8255).
If you’re uncomfortable talking on the phone, you can also text NAMI to 741-741 to be connected to a free, trained crisis counselor on the Crisis Text Line.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention has many resources for suicide prevention, crisis services, mental health, and much more.
The American Association of Suicidology provides a wealth of resources dedicated to suicide awareness. See the calendar and upcoming dates on the website.
The Suicide Prevention Resource Center provides programs, toolkits, fact sheets, and training opportunities to help you take effective action.
