The FPPOA (Federal Probation & Pretrial Officers Association) national board has planning underway for the upcoming National Training Institute (NTI) scheduled for Sunday, August 25th through Wednesday, August 28th in Tucson, Arizona. If you have attended one of our conferences in the past, you can recall the large amount of impressive presenters that participate, and whose presentations are directly related to the work of federal probation and pretrial officers. Generally, there are several hundred officers in attendance and the networking that officers from all across the country participate in is invaluable. This year's NTI will be no different. Located at the Marriott Starr Pass resort in Tucson, the southwest scenery, culture, and diverse sessions to chose from will be a conference you will not want to miss. This year, our keynote speaker on Sunday evening is Elizabeth Smart. As many of you may know, she endured a harrowing kidnapping experience in 2002. She will be focusing on the topic of resiliency and we are very excited to hear her message. As additional details are solidified about the NTI, they will be posted on our website (FPPOA.org). Registration will begin in the coming weeks. Additionally, our website provides instruction on how to become an FPPOA member and posts up to date information in our fields.
The Federal Probation and Pretrial Officers Association is proud to open registration for the 9th National Training Institute being held August 25 to 28, 2019 at the J.W. Marriott Starr Pass Resort in Tucson, Arizona. This NTI carries the theme, #Educate #Collaborate #Innovate. To register, click on the following link and completely fill in all information. Once you register, you will receive an email with a link to the resort in order to book your room. The email will also include a password which will be used for the NTI APP, which will be sent to all registered attendees in the near future. The APP will also be used throughout the conference for information, schedule, presenters, announcements, etc. The registration fee for the conference is $375 per attendee.
The 2019 FPPOA National Training Institute will begin on Sunday, August 25th at 4pm, with Elizabeth Smart as the programs opening speaker with a presentation on resiliency. There will be a host of break out trainings on Monday and Tuesday from 830 to 5, to include tracks for pretrial, presentence and supervision. We will also have two limited attendence off site programs this year, one with Border Patrol and the other with U.S. Pretrial Services and Magistrate Court for the District of Arizona. Wednesday will feature our closing speaker, Michelle Gielan with a program on Creating Success Through Positive Engagement. This will be followed by some wellness activities, with the training ending late morning.
Registration and rooms for FPPOA's National Training Institute are filling up quickly. Please note, the conference begins at 4pm on Sunday, August 25th and will end late morning Wednesday, August 28. If attendees plan to stay additional days after the conference, the hotel now has a limited number of rooms available. The hotel is fully booked on the 22nd for another event, and has limited availablity on the 23rd. FPPOA has a number of rooms blocked for Saturday, August 24. If your attendees are trying to book prior to August 24, they may receive a "hotel has no rooms available" message. They will need to adjust their arrival date in order to complete their hotel booking. Once registered, attendees should book a room immediately. Thank you....
This year’s NTI will be capped at 500. Once we reach that number, the conference will be closed. There is only one hotel room allowed per participant attending. You must register for the conference before booking your hotel room. Hotel bookings made without a completed registration will be cancelled.
After registration is complete, districts will be billed. Payment can be made by JFMIS, credit card, or check, payable to Federal Probation and Pretrial Officers Association.
