
On November 30, 2012, Maurice Foy, U.S. Probation Officer for the Eastern District of North Carolina, was presented the 2012 Mark A. Sneberger Line Officer of the Year Award for the Mid-Atlantic Region. He also received the highest national recognition, the Richard F. Doyle Award. Chief U.S. District Judge James C. Dever III, and Chief U.S. Probation Officer James Corpening joined FPPOA Mid-Atlantic Region President, Julie Rosa, in the courtroom ceremony. U.S. Probation Officer Foy was selected from other outstanding nominees for several reasons. Officer Foy is an excellent example of a service driven staff member. His dedication to duty and exceptional performance is evident through his interaction with coworkers and offenders. Officer Foy works closely with offenders to maximize their opportunities for success. He has embraced the fundamentals of evidence-based practices and serves as an MRT facilitator, STARR Coach, HOPE Officer for the Reentry/Drug Court, Low Intensity Supervision Program Assistant, and a facilitator for our Employment Workshop. Officer Foy consistently maintains a positive demeanor and demonstrates his dedication to the court and the U.S. Probation Office. The image of U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services is enhanced by the work of Officer Foy.
