Safety Committee Policy Statement


The Safety Committee is established to foster a safe, secure, and healthy work environment. This committee is committed to identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks associated with probation and pretrial officers’ duties, both in the office and in the field, and promoting policies and procedures that enhance overall safety.


Objectives:


1. Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify hazards and risks faced by officers, particularly those encountered during fieldwork, home visits, and interactions with individuals under supervision.

2. Safety Awareness and Education: Promote ongoing safety training and awareness programs to ensure officers are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their duties safely

3. Incident Review and Prevention: Investigate safety-related incidents to understand root causes and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.

4. Policy Development: Recommend safety policies and protocols aimed at improving physical and psychological safety, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

5. Collaboration and Communication: Facilitate open communication between officers, management, and other stakeholders to address safety concerns and share safety updates and best practices.
