Biography
Anita Carrizosa is a Supervisory Probation Officer in the District of Arizona. She has served the FPPOA board since 2021 when she was appointed as the Newsletter Editor and was elected to Secretary in 2023. Prior to serving on the board, as an FPPOA member, she served as the local point of contact and volunteer coordinator for the 2019 NTI and assisted with local duties during the 2015 NTI. She has worked in the field of community corrections since 2002 and has been with U.S. Probation since 2010. She has a strong passion for serving her community and the officers who share her dedication to impacting the lives of those we supervise in a positive way, balanced with protecting the community. She has experience in both post-conviction supervision and presentence, is a National STARR coach, National PCRA trainer, and National office review participant. She has worked to develop ongoing training curriculum to support the initiatives in the area of post-conviction intervention strategies and has a strong passion for supporting officers by validating their experiences, supporting their mental, emotional and physical wellbeing, and advocating for resources needed to facilitate the safe and effective execution of their duties.
She has extensive experience in the field of sex offender management and has earned a reputation as a subject matter expert in the field. She has earned the respect of her peers through her engagement, and ongoing commitment to lead in a trustworthy, balanced, and fair direction. She is passionate about participating in national initiatives aimed at developing training and resource management for the betterment of those we serve, our stakeholders, our agency, and staff. She is honored to have the opportunity to contribute to the FPPOA and it’s mission to serve officers, advocate for resources, develop innovative practices, and continue to provide ongoing education in the ever changing field of community corrections.
