Biography
Greetings! I am Peter Lepiane and have been with U.S. Probation & Pretrial Services in the Western District of New York since 2006. I began my career in our Buffalo Office Post-Conviction Unit before becoming a Location Monitoring Specialist in our Pretrial Unit in 2014. Since 2018, I have been a Supervising U.S. Probation Officer for the Post-Conviction Unit. I have served as a safety instructor since 2008, helped formulate the district’s surveillance program in 2012, and became a search team coordinator in 2016. I currently oversee our district’s Safety, Search, and Surveillance Teams. I am proud to have served in a variety of roles during my career: internship coordinator; CBT facilitator; national district reviewer; drug & mental health team member; office review working group member, and a mentor. Additionally, I teach Alternatives to Incarceration at Niagara University, have served as a liaison with law enforcement agencies throughout the country, and referee soccer! Throughout my career, I have strived to promote the work that our officers are doing to help people change and to protect the communities we live in. My goal is to assist officers in any way that I can so they can perform at a high level and have sound mental well-being.
